    How to Cancel OET Exam? 

    Modes of OET Exams:

    There are two modes through which one can attempt an OET Exam:

    PBT (Paper Based Test):

    • You go to a test center and write your answers with a pen and paper.
    • You have to write your answers in booklets they give you.
    • For speaking, you talk face-to-face with someone.

    CBT (Computer Based Test):

    • You do the Writing and Speaking parts on a computer.
    • You type your answers for writing.
    • For speaking, you talk with a computer and use a headset and microphone.

    Procedure to Cancel the OET Exam:

    Steps to Cancel PBT:

    You can cancel a PBT a week prior to your exam to get a refund. The steps for cancellation are given below:

    Step 1: Log in to your OET profile on the OET website.

    Step 2: Go to the “My Tests” or “Upcoming Tests” section of your profile.

    Step 3: Find the PBT test you wish to cancel and click on cancel or withdraw.

    Step 4: Follow the instructions to confirm your cancellation. Provide any required information or reasons for cancelling.

    Step 5: Review the cancellation policy and pay applicable fees if required. Go through refund conditions if any.

    Step 6: Complete the cancellation process. Save the confirmation slip of your cancellation on email or on your OET profile.

    Steps to Cancel CBT:

    You can cancel a CBT 2 days prior to your exam. The steps for cancellation are given below:

    Step 1: Log in to your OET  profile on the OET website.

    Step 2: Access the section related to CBT scheduling or test bookings.

    Step 3: Find the CBT test appointment you want to cancel and select the option to cancel or withdraw.

    Step 4: Follow the prompts to confirm your cancellation, providing any necessary details or reasons for cancelling.

    Step 5: Review the cancellation policy and any associated fees or refund terms.

    Step 6: Complete the cancellation process and ensure you receive confirmation of your cancellation either by email or on your OET profile dashboard.

    OET Refund Policy:

    The OET refund policy outlines the amount a candidate will receive if they cancel their OET test. The refund amount depends on factors such as the test type, test location, and the timing of the cancellation.

    Paper-Based Test (PBT):

    Cancellation Fees:

    Before Booking Closes: AU$120 (plus AU$7 non-refundable booking fee), approximately INR 6,720.

    After Booking Closes: AU$200 (plus AU$7 non-refundable booking fee), approximately INR 11,200.

    Refund Amounts for Full Test and Sub-Test Bookings:

    Cancellation before Closing Date:

    Full Test (Four Sub-Tests): AU$460, approximately INR 25,760.

    Less Than Four Sub-Tests:

    1 Sub-Test: AU$188, approximately INR 10,528.

    2 Sub-Tests: AU$288, approximately INR 16,128.

    3 Sub-Tests: AU$388, approximately INR 21,728.

    Cancellation after Closing Date:

    Full Test (Four Sub-Tests): AU$380, approximately INR 21,280.

    Less Than Four Sub-Tests:

    1 Sub-Test: AU$108, approximately INR 6,048.

    2 Sub-Tests: AU$208, approximately INR 11,648.

    3 Sub-Tests: AU$308, approximately INR 17,248.

    Computer-Based Test (CBT) and OET@Home:

    Cancellation Fees:

    Before Booking Closes: AU$120 (or US$95 for OET Tests in the USA), approximately INR 6,720.

    After Booking Closes: AU$200 (or US$155 for OET Tests in the USA), approximately INR 11,200.

    Refund Amounts for Full Test:

    Cancellation before Closing Date: AU$460 (or US$355 for OET Tests in the USA), approximately INR 25,760.

    Cancellation after Closing Date: AU$380 (or US$295 for OET Tests in the USA), approximately INR 21,280.

     Refund Processing Time:

    • Once a candidate cancels his/her booking, the refund (if applicable) is processed within 7-10 business days.
    • The refund is returned to the original card used for booking.

    Note:

    If a candidate’s credit/debit card has expired before the refund is processed, they may need to provide updated payment details to receive the refund.

    Reasons for Cancelling OET Exam:

    1. Personal Circumstances:
      • Unexpected illness or family emergencies.
      • Unforeseen personal events preventing attendance.
    2. Scheduling Conflicts:
      • Changes in work or travel schedules.
      • Other commitments conflicting with exam date.
    3. Preparation Concerns:
      • Not feeling adequately prepared for the exam.
      • Needing more time for study and preparation.
    4. Visa or Immigration Issues:
      • Changes in visa status affecting exam eligibility.
      • Immigration requirements impacting exam participation.
    5. Test Center Issues:
      • Technical problems or facility closures at the test center.
      • Unforeseen circumstances making exam administration impossible.
