    On the Test Day?

    • Candidates are required to double-check their appointment details. Candidates

are advised to sign in to their ETS account to confirm there are no changes to

    their registration details.

    • Candidates are required to arrive at least 30 minutes before their test time, to

    allow time for check-in.

    • Candidates are required to carry valid government ID proof for the TOEFL

exam. Currently, ETS - the conducting body of the TOEFL exam are accepting

valid Indian passports and Aadhar Cards of Indian test takers looking to appear

for the TOEFL across TOEFL test centres.

    • Carrying a mask is mandatory in line with COVID-19 safety protocol.

Candidates are advised to carry extra for any unseen situations.

    • a printout of your order confirmation email (for the Paper Edition test only) —

you will need to record information from the email on your answer sheet.

    • #2 or HB pencils and erasers (for the Paper Edition test only) — mechanical

    pencils are not permitted.

    • Food and personal items such as phones, watches or any other electronic,

recording, listening, scanning or photographic devices are strictly prohibited.

    Inside the Test Center:

    • There will be a digital timer for each section of the test. You’ll get instructions

for each section and reminders to put on your headphones for listening- and

speaking-oriented questions. (You may also simply wear your headphones

    throughout the test.)

    • You should expect the testing room to be somewhat noisy. Since other test takers

may reach the Speaking section at the same time, you’ll likely hear talking during

    the test.

    • If you have a question or problem, raise your hand, and a TCA will come over to

help you. For example, if you run out of scratch paper, you may raise your hand

to ask for more. Note that TCAs cannot answer any questions about test content.

    • You may use the restroom or take an unscheduled break at any time. However,

your test’s clock will continue to run while you are away. It’s better to use your

mandatory 10-minute break after Listening to go to the restroom and access any

food, drinks, or medications you have. You may not access your phone or other

belongings while on break. Furthermore, you may only leave the testing room if

you have received permission from a TCA.

    Register for TOEFL at Home

The TOEFL Test Home Edition is available around the clock, seven days a week, with appointments available as early as 24 hours after you register. To be able to take the test at home, candidates are simply required to meet the equipment and environment requirements prescribed by ETS – the conducting body of the TOEFL exam. Some important points that need to be kept in mind before your TOEFL Test Home Edition are:

    • Check and fix any issues with your laptop/computer before you attempt to check

in for your test. All issues are to be resolved before your appointment time.

    • The test taker should ideally close all browsers and applications not needed for

the test. This will help prevent bandwidth issues while you are taking the test.

    • Test takers are advised to only have permitted material on them during the entire

duration of the TOEFL Home Edition Test. All other materials are prohibited.

    • Passport or Aadhar Cards as acceptable ID

    • Acceptable note-taking materials, such as a whiteboard or plastic

transparency sheet, that can be erased in view of the proctor

    • Cell phone or handheld mirror for check-in

    • Make sure your testing area meets all environmental requirements

    • And finally, the candidate should be dressed appropriately, with their ears and

face visible to the proctor. Avoid wearing any jewellery or other accessories. The

test taker is not allowed to wear a face mask during check-in or any part of your

    TOEFL home testing experience
