Work Options
After completing a master's degree in Germany, international students have several options for staying and working in the country:
1. Job Seeker Visa: If you are a non-EU/EEA graduate of a German university, you can apply for a job seeker visa, which allows you to stay in Germany for up to 18 months to search for employment related to your field of study.
2. EU Blue Card: If you find a job in Germany related to your field of study, you can apply for an EU Blue Card. This card allows highly skilled non-EU/EEA nationals to work and live in Germany. It also provides certain benefits, such as easier family reunification and the possibility of permanent residency after a certain period.
3. Residence Permit for Qualified Professionals: If you have found a job in Germany that meets certain salary and qualification criteria, you can apply for a residence permit for qualified professionals. This permit allows you to work and live in Germany.
4. Start-up Visa: If you have a business idea and want to start your own business in Germany, you can apply for a start-up visa. This visa allows you to establish and run your start-up in Germany.
5. Work Permit: If you are offered a job in Germany, your employer can sponsor you for a work permit. This permit allows you to work in Germany for a specific employer and is tied to the job offer.
