If you want to work in Hungary after finishing your studies, this permit will allow you to work here for as long as the work contract is valid.

• How can I apply?

AT LOCAL AUTHORITIES, EMPLOYER

The work permit application is currently done as part of the residency application through the Hungarian Immigration Office. The employer must obtain permission from the Ministry of Labor to hire a foreigner. Permission is granted if the employer can prove that a suitable candidate could not be found from within the EU/EEA or Hungary.

• How long does it take to get the permit?

60 TO 70 DAYS

After applying for the work permit you will have to wait 60 to 70 days for a decision.

• Application requirements

You can apply for the work permit if you have:

▪ a contract of employment with a Hungarian employer.

It is not possible to apply for a work permit in advance and look for a job later.

Your work permit will be valid for as long as the work contract is valid.

You will have to pay 5,392 INR for your work permit. Permit extension costs 28 EUR.

You will be allowed to work 40 hours per week.

The minimum salary whilst working in Hungary is 40,439 INR per month.
