    Work after graduation in Latvia

    • How can I apply?

    EMPLOYER

    Work permits are issued by the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs on the basis of visa or residence permits. Employers must register a job vacancy with the State Employment Agency (SEA) at least one month before applying to the SEA for approval of invitations for visas or sponsorship for residence permits.

    • Application requirements

    You can apply for the work permit if you have:

    ▪ an employment contract with a business registered in Latvia;

    ▪ a valid residence permit.

    In certain cases you do not need an employer's invitation to work in Latvia.

    • When can I start applying?

    You can start applying for the work permit when you get an offer of employment.
