Visa Process
Slovakia student visa International students must fill and submit the visa application form. You can visit the nearest Slovak embassy or consulate for the visa application procedure. Documents required for the whole process are:
• A valid passport
• Passport-size photographs
• Acceptance letter from the institution
• Proof of payment to the university.
• Evidence of sufficient funds to support yourself during studies in Slovakia
• Onward or return ticket
• Proof of accommodation
• Medical insurance
• Visa fee payment
• Certificate of good conduct
• If you are less than 18 years old you will also need a Consent letter from the parents.
Students coming from third countries to stay in Slovakia for more than 90 days must apply for a temporary residence permit for the study purpose. Apply for the permit personally at your nearest Slovak embassy or consulate, or the respective foreign policy in the Slovak Republic. If your application is accepted, a written notice by mentioning the start and expiry date of the permit will be given, along with the temporary residence permit.
Following documents must be submitted for a temporary residence permit:
• Application form
• A valid passport and 2 passport-size photographs
• Unconditional Admission Letter from the University.
• Proof of Slovak language
• Evidence of adequate financial means
• Certificate of good conduct: Must be issued from your country of origin or countries you have stayed in for more than 90 days
• Proof of accommodation in Slovakia
After successful submission of the application for a temporary residence permit, the Slovak embassy will conduct an interview. Later, the embassy would send its decision on the granting of the permit along with the record to the police department.
Once the police receive the application, it issues a decision within 30 days. If the police grant the application, it gives written notice of granting the temporary residence permit. It will be issued in the form of a residence car
