A Business Visa allows applicants to come to Austria for business-related activities. Applicants, on behalf of their company, may come to Austria to make sales, establish contacts, attend meetings or any such activities.
For travelling to Austria for business-related activities, you need to obtain a Business Schengen Visa.
You would need the below documents for a Business Visa to Austria:
Trade license.
Proof of the trip’s financing.
Business bank statement of the previous 6 months.
Certificate from your employer stating why exactly would you be travelling to Austria.
Invitation letter from the Austrian company that you intend visiting, along with their detailed address as well the scheduled dates of your visit.
Memorandum and Article of Association to be submitted in the original (certified).
You must apply for the visa at an Austrian embassy, consulate, or an Austrian government official representative body in your country.
In a normal case, the processing period for an Austrian Schengen visa could take up to 15 days. Because of the volume of applications received by the Austrian embassy/consulate or the peculiarity of your circumstances, this period may be extended to 30 days in some cases.
Even extraordinary applications can take up to 60 days to be reviewed by the Austrian embassy/consulate.
You should submit your visa application at least three to four weeks before your specified departure date.
Keep in mind that you cannot submit your appliction
on three months before your departure date.
Validity period
A business visa is valid for 90 days within a six-month period. This implies you have six months to travel to and remain in the Schengen Area for a total of ninety days. You must return to your native country after the 90-day period has expired.
An Austria Business Visa allows you to enter Austria for business purposes such as attending meetings, conferences, or exploring business opportunities. It is typically a short-stay Schengen visa valid for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
Non-EU/EEA nationals who plan to visit Austria for business purposes need this visa. EU/EEA citizens do not require a visa for short stays.
You can apply at the Austrian embassy or consulate in your home country or through a Visa Application Center (VAC). The process usually involves completing an application form, submitting necessary documents, and possibly attending an interview.
The standard processing time is about 15 calendar days. However, it can vary based on individual circumstances and the time of year. It's recommended to apply at least 1-2 months before your planned travel date.
Extensions are generally not granted for a short-stay visa. If you need to stay longer, you would need to apply for a different type of visa or residence permit.
The visa fee is generally around €80. Fees may vary, and some exemptions apply for specific categories (e.g., children). Fees are non-refundable even if your visa application is rejected.
